| | | Welcome to The Kelu Project
| | | Welcome to my newsletter! I am thrilled to share with you the latest developments in my mission to make a positive impact in our community. Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to all who have supported me in starting The Kelu Project - my first start-up as an entrepreneur. Your generosity and help has allowed me to work on something I have longed to do for a long time.
| | | In terms of my recent activities, I have successfully launched initiatives to provide assistance and support to individuals, advocacy groups or nonprofits who are also on this journey of starting something new, and meaningful. This project aims to help small business initiatives who are cause driven and need help with project or communication mediums.
| | | I am excited to announce that my full website will be here by next month, in the meantime you can visit my landing page where you are welcome to sign up for The Kelu Project Newsletter. My website will have an interactive way to support causes. I want to remind everyone that charity relies on the kindness and support of our community. I am pledging 10% of my annual income from this project to charity. Why not join me! Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for your continued support!

Stories Of Impact
| |
| |
This month's story is about what surviving three rounds of homelessness taugt me about resilience, loss and holding on - when everything falls apart.
| |
I’ve been homeless three times. The first time it happened, my son was only five months old. We went out to buy nappies on a rainy November morning. When we came back, my mother-in-law had decided to lock us out. She’d overheard me say to my husband that morning that we should start looking for a place of our own. I guess she took it literally. We landed in a family shelter. A month later, I spotted a house in the classifieds. A relative helped with the deposit, and we moved in just before Christmas.
| |
Four years later, it happened again. This time, it was my mother. We had returned to South Africa — and walked straight into chaos. We ended up on the road again. A City Shelter. Campsites. Backpackers. A bungi-cord-loaded forestry house. We lived in a tent under the stars. It was strange — peaceful, even idyllic at times — but still, we were poor. And homeless.
| |
Then I was separated from my son. My now ex came to South Africa and took him away from me - his mother probably cheering him on. I came back to Dublin, alone, and spent eight months in a hostel I called “the backpackers” to soften the truth. I’ve been living in a bedsit for 14 and a half years. Childless. Toothless. But not homeless. Up until now. In June my landlord gave me notice. And here I am, on the edge again - facing possible homelessness - again. But I’ve survived this before. Three times it tried to break me. It didn’t. This time, I’m fighting to win — I have The Kelu Project.

| • | Time Blocking: Set chunks of time for deep work, email, or breaks.
| • | Two-Minute Rule: If it takes less than two minutes, do it right away.
